Support

Need a hand with rm8tes? rm8tes is in private beta, and we read everything. Here’s how to reach us and handle the common things.

If you are looking for how something works rather than reporting a problem, the guide walks through the app screen by screen: making a profile, working the viewing checklist, and photographing the flat at move-in.

Email rm8tes@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can — usually within a couple of days. It helps if you include your device model, your OS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened.

Sharing a flat with your flatmates

A property in rm8tes belongs to a household, not to one person. Any member can generate a join code from the Flatmates screen and pass it to the people they live with; they enter it in the same screen and share the vault from that moment. A code is single-use and expires, so mint a new one for each flatmate — and if one goes astray, any member can revoke it before it is redeemed.

Everyone in a household sees the same property details, audit photos, checklists and diary, and every photo is credited to the flatmate who captured it. Only pass a code to people you actually live with; the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what your flatmates can and cannot see about you.

Sealing needs the household’s agreement. Closing a move-in or move-out audit is permanent, so in a shared flat every other member has to agree it is complete first. If someone has stopped replying, the household owner can seal anyway — the evidence pack records that they did — or remove that person from the household. Ownership passes automatically to the longest-standing member if the owner leaves, and can be handed over deliberately.

Leaving. Any member can leave a household, and the owner can remove one. The audit photos that person captured stay in the record, because they are the remaining flatmates’ evidence too; their account, profile and diary entries go with them. The same applies if they delete their account — see the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Delete your account

You can delete your account and everything in it from the profile screen in the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, so generate and save any PDF evidence pack you might still need — for a deposit dispute, for example — before you delete. If you can no longer sign in, email us from the address you signed up with and we’ll complete it for you. The account deletion page has the steps in full, and sets out exactly what is erased.

Your data and privacy

What we collect, why, and the rights you have (access, correction, erasure, and more) are set out in full in our Privacy Policy. To make a data request, use the contact address above.
